With a long family history of boating, powerboating, water skiing and water ski racing going back to the 60s, and perfectly located near the idyllic South Devon scenery, perhaps there was an air of faith & so The Wolf Rock Boat Company started trading and began its path to being the one of the UK’s top RIB boat specialists..

With early memories of growing up in the village of Bantham on the South Devon Coast, it was perhaps destiny that lead Founder, Paul McCarthy, created The Wolf Rock Boat Company. The company began trading on 17th Dec 2004, after a summer of Paul selling used ribs from home.
​
From a teenager to his mid 20s, Paul was a competitive water ski racer, representing Great Britain. Paul challenged some of the best around behind boats of around 21ft, up to 600hp and capable of 100mph.

As the competing came to an end a working career began. Paul spent seven years working in London for Channel Four Television’s advertising sales team.
The Fleet
There were many weekend trips back to Devon and the boat at Bantham, little did Paul know that this time in London was preparing him to run a successful boat business back in Devon.

Having both the knowledge of powerboats, some marketing know how, and crucially a taste of working in London, it was clear that the appreciation for those precious boating days in Devon were a true highlight and frankly, too hard to ignore.
​
The business moved to Churchstow and The South Hams Business Park just before Easter of 2008 and secured the dealership for BRIG INFLATABLE BOATS for the Southwest. Progress was swiftly made and things moved quickly, by early 2011 The Wolf Rock Boat Company became the sole UK importer/distributor for BRIG Boats. Since then the business has grown with the BRIG brand becoming the biggest rib brand in the UK, sold through The Wolf Rock’s independent dealer network from Scotland to the Channel Islands helping The Wolf Rock to become RIB boat specialists.

The Wolf Rock now has a team of 14 full-time employees and works from a 10,000 square feet of workshop and showrooms at The South Hams Business Park, just outside of Kingsbridge. Pleasingly we’ll soon be expanding operations with a satellite workshop and office in Salcombe from January 2023.

Our growth and family run ethos doesn’t stop at being RIB boat specialists, The Wolf Rock Boat Company is the UK’s largest supplier of Suzuki Outboards. In addition, we are the premier Suzuki Service Centre for South Devon too.

Along with BRIG, The Wolf Rock are the sole UK importers for IRON BOATS, UMS BOATS, SMARTWAVE BOATS, KOLIBRI INFLATABLES and IDEA MARINE. All brands are distributed through our dealer network. We are also extremely proud to offer transport solutions for our craft, that’s why we are proud to be an authorised dealer to premier trailer brand, SBS TRAILERS.
